Self-pay

Self-pay primary care in the Houston area.

Most visits are $125 for a 30-minute appointment with a board-certified nurse practitioner, at the Sugar Land office on Branford Place, the Cypress office on US-290, or by video anywhere in Texas. It works for people without insurance, people with a high deductible, and anyone who wants to know the price before they walk in. Visits where you need a controlled substance are $175. There is no membership to join. Book online and pay at the visit by cash, card, HSA or FSA.

Insurance status. We are credentialing with insurance plans now. Until that is complete, visits are self-pay at the prices above. Your insurance still works for everything ordered from the visit. Read the insurance page for what that means in practice.

Pricing questions

The details, answered.

Is the price the same for a video visit and an office visit?

Yes. The price depends on your care, not where you are seen: $125 for most visits and $175 when a controlled substance is involved, whether you come to Sugar Land, Cypress or meet by video.

Are follow-up visits the same price?

Yes. Follow-ups, sick visits and physicals are all $125. Follow-ups for a controlled medication are $175.

Why do some visits cost $175?

Any visit where you need a controlled substance, such as testosterone, is $175, in person or by video. Those visits carry extra steps required by Texas and federal rules, including prescribing limits and ongoing monitoring. Schedule II medications, such as ADHD stimulants and opioid pain medications, are not prescribed at this practice under Texas law.

Do you offer memberships or subscription plans?

No. You pay per visit, and there is nothing to subscribe to.

What is included in the visit fee?

30 minutes with Dorothy, the exam, prescriptions sent to your pharmacy, lab and imaging orders, referrals, and a written plan.

What is billed separately?

Lab work at LabCorp, medications at your pharmacy, imaging, and specialist visits. Each of those is billed by that provider, and your insurance applies.

Can I pay the visit fee with an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Both are accepted, along with cash and major cards. You receive an itemized receipt you can submit for reimbursement or keep for your records.

Will the price change when you accept insurance?

When credentialing is complete, in-network patients will be billed through insurance. Until then, self-pay pricing stays as listed on this page. Any change will be announced on this page and on the insurance page.
